Crossroads Centers
The AOODI, Inc. Crossroads Centers are buildings built to help people with high debt to get it under control in a shorter period of time. The centers will be built more like assisted living facilities with places for people in need to stay for a service fee lower than standard rental rates in the area. There will be common rooms with entertainment (pool tables, ping pong, TV, etc.) and an exercise room with treadmills, ellipticals, stationary bikes, weight machines for use by the customers.
Smaller facilities will have an office for by-appointment debt counselors. Larger facilities will have a live-in building manager/debt counselor. The debt counselor’s duty is to help set up a plan of action and to keep the guests on track with getting their debt down. This is accomplished by the counselors meeting with each guest monthly to see what has been accomplished and make adjustments to the plan if needed. This service is mandatory for staying in a Crossroad Center.
People not living in the facility can also set up appointments with the debt counselor free of charge during their office hours.
All service funds and/or donations received are to be used for the operation and maintenance of the building, paying the wages of the employees, and to build and/or acquire more housing and/or facilities.
Crossroads Centers are a month to month stay as long as there is the need and progress. The person in need will be signing a contract, not a lease that their stay is limited to a period of time max depending on the county/state or AOODI, Inc. or if in violation of rules of conduct to stay and dependant on complying to working with our debt counselors in good faith.
Admittance is the same non-discriminatory regulations as the Equal Opportunity Employment law of non-bias based on race, color, religion, national origin and sex. In addition to sexual orientation, age, disabilities, marital status, parental/pregnancy status, political affiliation and military/veteran status.
All guests of an AOODI, Inc. Crossroads Center will have a Credit Karma account so they can log in during their meeting with the debt counselor to be sure all debt is disclosed, make sure no new debts are being taken on as a result of cheaper living, and help plan which debts should be concentrated on with their extra money they save staying at the facility.
Recreational drugs or drug use, whether legal or illegal will not be permitted in an AOODI, Inc. Crossroads Center. It is a risk to other customers and it is money that should be applied to debt. No smoking/vaping is allowed inside the facility. All smoking/vaping will be done in a designated shelter outside during inclement weather or in the customer’s yard(balcony for multi-level structures).
Although they will not be denied because of their circumstance, these facilities are not for housing low income people or people on SSI or SSDI long term. There are plenty of housing and help programs for permanent assistance or living out there or as AOODI, Inc. acquires regular housing/apartments that will have lower than normal rents. The Crossroads Centers are designed mainly for the purpose of temporary stays for people that can get their debt under control to be able to live elsewhere in six months to three years maximum to cycle through as many in need that the program can get to.
As soon as it is determined a guest of an AOODI, Inc. Crossroads Center is in a safe financial standing, they will be helped to find a new place to stay or if there is one available, they can move into an AOODI, Inc. apartment complex/home. This is to make room for others in need of the facilities and counseling.
If it is determined any customer is not using the facility in the spirit of getting out of debt quickly to allow others to get help, and instead uses it to acquire more debt or accumulate more items and make minimum payments, they can be denied continued assistance.
Anyone that has stayed in a AOODI, Inc. facility cannot stay in one again for a five year period of time unless an extenuating circumstance occurred to facilitate the need. If it is just from recklessly acquiring more debt, then admittance will be denied to offer spaces to new people in need.
