Cash donations can be made several ways. We also have Thank You gifts you have the option of choosing from depending on the level range of the contribution (See Here). Indirect cash contributions can also be made with companies we have teamed up with. You can go to HumbleBundle Bundles and any of the charities you have the option to change, you can search for us or visit our Facebook page where we will have the links for them in there with us already selected. You can also sign up for RaiseRight and set your charity to us with this code: WX1EDD391GBR and make donations purchasing gift cards to places you shop regularly. America Out of Debt Initiative will reimburse the RaiseRight fees as long as the sum we receive is greater than the fee. Fees are $.29 for using a linked bank account, 1% for debit card and 3% for credit card. For physical cards it is $.50 for stamp and envelope and $.50 per card handling fee on top of payment fee. Email the name and address and how often(monthly, yearly, when reach a certain amount, etc) would like fee reimbursement to donations@aoodi.org. Use the same email you sign up with RaiseRight.
Even though materials we would primarily try to get wholesale or donation or salvage, there is always the need to get more tools or replacement blades and personal protective equipment.
Some stores offer rebates for in store merchandise checks instead of actual cash back. Mail them to us with what is needed to collect it or even mail it for us putting our contact information in.
Finished projects with leftover boards, screws, nails, caulk, bricks, etc? Even scraps. Have tools laying around bought for one project use or inherited you do not use? Have a junk drawer or jars in your garage loaded with odds and end nuts and washers? We will put them to good use!
Places to build on are always welcome. Houses can be in the form of actually providing a property that can be fixed up and rented. Or have seen ads that people want the structure they have on a property removed and offer it for free to get rid of it whether it is a house or mobile home. We and our volunteers can remove and salvage useful items and materials to be reused, recycle materials not usable and dispose of the rest properly.
Volunteers
We will need volunteers for many things to come and welcome the help(Fill Form Here).
- People to help build or restore dwellings. Whether as someone that has knowledge in anything from construction to interior work. Or if there are students of any of the local trade schools that we could convince their teacher for some credit for hands on practicum. Or already licensed contractors that would be generous to offer some of their free time. Or those that want to help even in some of the tasks an apprentice would accomplish. Think how this would look on a resume!
- People to tear down and salvage places donated such as listed above that people want off their property, or if donated or purchased a place the building is deemed unlivable and unrestorable and need to tear down to build anew.
- People with debt counseling experience to hold seminars/webinars, live meetings for groups or one on one or even to answer some email questions.
- People to work at charity events or a table set up such as at a job fair or a gathering event such as 4th of July, bake sales, car shows, motorcycle rallies, concerts, etc.
Our list of different skills will surely grow as we grow and take on even more to lower the cost of living to all. So you can just sign up and list what skills you have that we may be looking for in the near future.
Information
We want information on long, short or temporary term assistance available to Americans. We need the name, address, contact information, and what they offer so we can add it to our databases for all to view. We will contact the organization directly to ensure we accurately give the necessary requirements(if any) for their assistance. Examples of what we are looking for:
- 1) Food drives by non-profits or religious organizations.
- 2) Shelters for those who have lost their homes.
- 3) Utility assistance programs.
- 4) If there are special events(Ex: Dentists in [city] at [location] offer free cleanings and exams for [time period]).
Email any information to aoodi@aoodi.org
